Terms and Conditions

By leaving your dog/s in the care of Hounds Home from Home and signing these terms and conditions you agree to be bound by them.


Service provided by Hounds Home from Home Limited (HHFH)

HHFH will provide services for you and your dog/s between drop off and pick up at the premises of HHFH located at 29 Clover Way, Paddock Wood, Kent TN12 6BQ.

  • Only dogs suitable for home boarding will be accepted. 

  • HHFH reserves the right to refuse any dog that is deemed to be unsuitable to stay at the premises (for example, but not limited to, aggressive behaviour, destructive behaviour, posing a flight risk, a bitch in season, puppies under 6 months of age, or any dog not suitable to be boarded with other animals or children).  

  • HHFH will not accept any dog registered under the Dangerous Dogs Act 1991.

  • HHFH reserves the right to ask the owner to remove any difficult or dangerous dog/s.  No refunds will be given for that day/stay.

  • HHFH reserves the right to consult a veterinary surgeon about the health of the dog (at the customer's expense) when it considers it necessary.  During normal working hours this will be the dog’s own vet.  Out of hours or in an emergency HHFH will contact the nearest veterinary practice (Putlands Veterinary Surgery, Paddock Wood).

  • HHFH hours of business and pricing are set out in the pricing schedule and may be subject to change.

  • HHFH will provide food only if a customer is delayed in collecting a dog or in unforeseen circumstances.

  • HHFH has full insurance and is licensed by Tunbridge Wells Borough Council, however, customers are expected to have their own full pet insurance.


  • We like owners to visit with their dog before booking. This is so you can be happy knowing where your dog will stay in our home and we can be sure the dog will fit in.

  • The customer must complete a HHFH data sheet, in full, for each dog before handing over the dog for care.  This will be retained and updated on an annual basis or when the customer informs HHFH of any changes.

  • Any dog that may need medication must provide all medication for the full period of stay with instructions for dosage and times to be administered. HHFH maintains a medication book to log each medication given.

  • The customer will need to supply:

    • All food

    • Treats (if the dog has sensitivities)

    • Bedding (for overnight stays or holidays only)

  • The customer agrees to waiver all and any claims against Hounds Home from Home.

  • HHFH cannot be held responsible for any accidents to any dogs whilst in their care.

  • If the customer knows that they will be late dropping off or collecting a dog/s then they are required to contact HHFH as soon as possible.

  • The customer agrees to reimburse HHFH for any veterinary, or other, costs it may incur if the dog/s become unwell on collection of the dog.

  • All dogs coming to HHFH for day or overnight care must arrive in good health.  If we believe your dog is not in good health we reserve the right to refuse care for the dog.

  • The customer agrees that employees of HHFH, who are first aid trained, may perform any necessary first aid/health checks on any dogs left with them if required.

  • The customer authorises HHFH to use photographs of their dog/s for on the HHFH website, Facebook HHFH page and for promotional purposes.

  • Customers agree that their dog can walk, play and socialise with other dogs residing at HHFH.



  • All customers must ensure, and give evidence of, that the dog /s is/are fully vaccinated from:

    • Canine parvovirus

    • Canine distemper virus

    • Leptospirosis

    • Infectious canine hepatitis

    • Kennel cough (must be done 2 weeks prior to visit)

  • All dogs must be treated against fleas and worms.  HHFH will keep a record of treatment dates and brand of product used.  This is a requirement under our Council licence.

  • All dogs must have an appointed veterinarian and this must be stated on the customer data sheet.  Full contact details must be provided.

  • If your dog becomes ill whilst in the care of HHFH, we reserve the right to seek veterinary advice and the customer will be liable for any costs associated with this.  If we are able to contact the customer to obtain agreement beforehand we will do this.

  • We prefer that dogs are neutered and bitches spayed. 

  • We do not take a bitch in season.


  • The customer agrees to cover all costs in the event that a dog/s may bite another animal or person.

  • HHFH will not be held responsible for any dog's death whilst in its care due to unforeseen circumstances - eg heart attack.

  • The Dog has never attacked a human being or another dog.

  • The Dog has never been used as a guard dog, police dog, for hunting or for any purpose whereby it would be trained to attack.

  • The customer will confirm that the dog is not suffering from any illness which may be transmitted to or cause ill health to humans or other animals.

  • The customer agrees to indemnify, keep indemnified and hold harmless Hounds Home from Home from and against all direct, indirect or consequential loss (all three of which terms include, but are not limited to, loss of profits, loss of business, depletion of goodwill and similar loss), liabilities, injuries, damages, claims, demands, proceedings or legal costs and judgements which the Owner incurs or suffers as a consequence of direct or indirect breach of any of the provisions of clauses above.

  • Every care will be given to the welfare and safety of all dogs boarded with us, but we will not be held responsible for any illness, injury, loss or damage to the dog/s, however, caused during their stay. Dogs are boarded entirely at the customer's risk.

  • We ask that all customers leaving a dog/animal in our care sign the Vet Authorisation form.

  • HHFH will, on occasion, take dogs by car for days out/walks further afield.  All dogs will be suitably restrained under Rule 57 of the Highway Code.  HHFH will take all due care and attention to ensure your dog/s is/are safe whilst being transported and on a walk, but cannot be held responsible for any  issues arising.

  • All personal belongings left on the premises are left entirely at the customer's risk.  HHFH cannot be held responsible for any damages.

  • HHFH holds the customer liable for any damage to the property or contents of the HHFH premises which is a direct result of their dog’s action.



  • All charges are itemized on our HHFH Pricing sheet and are subject to change.

  • Invoices for regular customers are sent on a monthly basis.

  • All holiday bookings will require a non-refundable deposit of £50 per dog per week to secure each booking.  The deposit is payable when the booking is made.

  • The balance of all holiday bookings (5 days or over) is payable 1 month in advance.


  • HHFH can only accept payment for services by cash, cheque or bank transfer.

  • Where a deposit is given, this will be used to reduce the final balance once the dog/s has/ have been collected.

  • All deposits are not refundable.

  • Cancellation of less than 1 month prior to the boarding dates will incur a 100% charge.
